Oswestry

A border market town that shops local.

Oswestry is a market town right on the Welsh border, with an indoor market at the Powis Hall three days a week, the Iron Age hillfort just outside town and a loyal local crowd who still like to shop in person. Before they visit, though, they check you out on their phone.

I'm based in Barmouth in North Wales, and I've already redesigned the site for Osgo, an osteopath clinic in Oswestry. Most of the work happens over video and email, and you see every page on your own phone before anything goes live.

Who's searching in Oswestry.

Oswestry still feels like a market town. The indoor market at the Powis Hall opens on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with a monthly late night market, and the independent shops around Bailey Head and Church Street rely on people coming back week after week.

The town looks both ways. Customers come in from the Shropshire villages and from over the border in Powys and Wrexham, and plenty of them are Welsh speakers. A business that makes it clear where it is, when it's open and that it welcomes both sides of the border has a wider market than its postcode suggests.

Health and wellbeing is a busy part of local business, from osteopaths and physios to therapists and gyms. People choosing one want to know what you treat, what a first appointment involves and how to book, and they compare a few clinics before they decide.

Why most Oswestry sites don’t bring work

What should a website actually do for you?

It's 2026. Customers expect you to have a website, and they judge you by it. Yet most small businesses see theirs as a cost that never pays back. When someone lands on your site, it has three jobs, in this order.

A visitor lands From Google, a recommendation or your van. You have seconds.
1
Say what you fixPeople rarely want to read about a service. They want to know what problem you solve for them, in the simplest terms.
2
Earn their trustBefore they get in touch, people look for reviews and examples of your work. That's the cost of entry.
3
Make the next step obviousClear calls to action for whatever matters to you: booking an appointment, a viewing or an enquiry.
New enquiry A call, a booking or a message, landing with you.

Get these three right and your website starts bringing in work.

Every site I build is planned around your business and its goal. Not a template with your logo on.

FAQ

Questions from Oswestry businesses.

Something else on your mind? Ask me directly.

I run a clinic. What should my site make easy?

Booking, and knowing what to expect. Say what you treat, what a first appointment involves, how much it costs and how to book. Osgo's redesign puts all of that in front of people straight away.

Half my customers come from over the border in Wales. Does that matter?

Yes, in a good way. A site that names the Welsh villages you cover, and has a little Welsh where it suits you, shows those customers you're there for them too.

Oswestry isn't far from you. Will we ever meet?

It's under two hours from Barmouth, so if a face to face chat would help, I'm happy to come over. The rest we do over video and email.

Do you work with businesses in Oswestry?

Yes. I'm based in Barmouth in North Wales and work with businesses across the UK over video calls and email. You see every page on your own phone before anything goes live, and there are no travel costs on your quote.

Can you take over my existing site?

Often, yes. Send me the link and I'll tell you honestly whether it's worth keeping or starting fresh.

Danny at Wild Origines is so good that part of me wants to keep him a secret, but he deserves every bit of this review.

We’ve worked closely together to bring my company template and redevelop my current website, as well as effectively another new company website, and he’s been fantastic throughout. He’s worked all hours, taken the time to explain everything clearly, and consistently gone above and beyond. We’ve built a great relationship, and he’s been an absolute dream to work with.

What really sets Danny apart is his ability to think outside the box and create beautiful features that work brilliantly. He understands our philosophy while bringing sound business judgement, alongside expertise in AI and systems. It’s the perfect blend, and everything you could want in a web developer and far more.

Saying I wouldn’t hesitate to use Danny again doesn’t quite cover it. As long as he’s building websites, I won’t be going anywhere else. We’re already looking at other projects together, which probably says it all. I'd also recommend him to everyone and anyone who needs his services.

The website that Danny at Wild Origins has created for my business is far superior to the one I'd had before.

I'm absolutely thrilled with the design and he has showed great patience. Taking the time to understanding my vision and paying attention to all the details I wanted. He's been absolutely brilliant, and honestly can't recommend him enough. The evening my new website went live, I gained two new clients instantly!

We’re really happy with our new website!

A big thank you to Danny for making the whole process so easy and straightforward. He was friendly, helpful, and great to work with from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble, and we’re really pleased with the end result. Would definitely recommend Danny to anyone looking for a new website!
