Criccieth

A seaside town that searches first.

Criccieth's castle, beaches and cafés bring visitors through the summer, and the town keeps busy with locals the rest of the year. Either way, people look you up on their phone before they walk through the door.

I'm based in Barmouth and up past Porthmadog most weeks, so a coffee in Criccieth, Llanystumdwy or Pentrefelin is no trouble.

Search

Who's searching in Criccieth.

Criccieth is a quieter seaside town, built around the castle on its headland and the two beaches either side of it. It doesn't get the crowds of the bigger resorts, and that's the point: a lot of its visitors are couples and older holidaymakers who come back year after year and stay in the hotels and guest houses along the front.

It's a town with some well known names, too. Cadwaladers ice cream started in a Criccieth shop in 1927, and David Lloyd George grew up just along the road in Llanystumdwy, where his museum is. Visitors come looking for those, then look for somewhere to eat and stay nearby.

For local businesses, repeat customers matter more here than almost anywhere. Someone who stayed with you five years ago will search your name when they plan the next trip, so a site that's easy to find and easy to book from directly keeps that relationship yours instead of a booking site's. The guest houses along Marine Terrace and the cafés under the castle live on exactly that kind of loyalty.

Why most Criccieth sites don’t bring work

What should a website actually do for you?

It's 2026. Customers expect you to have a website, and they judge you by it. Yet most small businesses see theirs as a cost that never pays back. When someone lands on your site, it has three jobs, in this order.

A visitor lands From Google, a recommendation or your van. You have seconds.
1
Say what you fixPeople rarely want to read about a service. They want to know what problem you solve for them, in the simplest terms.
2
Earn their trustBefore they get in touch, people look for reviews and examples of your work. That's the cost of entry.
3
Make the next step obviousClear calls to action for whatever matters to you: booking an appointment, a viewing or an enquiry.
New enquiry A call, a booking or a message, landing with you.

Get these three right and your website starts bringing in work.

Every site I build is planned around your business and its goal. Not a template with your logo on.

FAQ

Questions from Criccieth businesses.

Something else on your mind? Ask me directly.

Most of my guests come back every year. Do I need a website at all?

Yes, to keep them booking with you directly. Returning guests search your name, and if a booking site comes up first they often book through it and you pay the commission. Your own site, showing up for your own name, stops that.

Can my site show that I'm dog friendly, have parking or a sea view?

Yes, and it should. Those are some of the first things people filter for when they search in Criccieth. I make them clear on the page and in what Google reads.

I'm in Llanystumdwy or Pentrefelin. Is that covered?

Yes. Your site can say exactly which villages you're in and serve, so you show up in Criccieth searches as well as your own.

Do you work with businesses in Criccieth?

Yes. I'm based in Barmouth and work with businesses in Criccieth, Llanystumdwy, Pentrefelin and Garndolbenmaen. I'll come to you.

Can you take over my existing site?

Often, yes. Send me the link and I'll tell you honestly whether it's worth keeping or starting fresh.

The website that Danny at Wild Origins has created for my business is far superior to the one I'd had before.

I'm absolutely thrilled with the design and he has showed great patience. Taking the time to understanding my vision and paying attention to all the details I wanted. He's been absolutely brilliant, and honestly can't recommend him enough. The evening my new website went live, I gained two new clients instantly!

A big thank you to Danny for making the whole process so easy and straightforward. He was friendly, helpful, and great to work with from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble, and we’re really pleased with the end result. Would definitely recommend Danny to anyone looking for a new website!

Danny has been excellent to deal with.

He recently carried out a review of my business website, followed by a number of updates and improvements. Before starting the work, he took the precaution of creating a full backup and subsequently identified and resolved several issues that had previously gone unnoticed, with a view to improving the website's SEO and visibility in AI-driven searches.

He was thorough, professional and kept me informed throughout, explaining everything in straightforward terms without unnecessary technical jargon.

It's reassuring to deal with someone who takes the time to pay attention to the details and do things properly. Very pleased with the service and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.
