Barmouth

Packed in summer, booked in winter.

Barmouth fills up every summer: families on the beach, walkers crossing the bridge, cyclists coming in off the Mawddach Trail and day trippers off the Cambrian Coast train. Most of them pick where to stay, eat and park on their phone, often before they've left home.

This is where I live and work, so there's no drive and no travel on your quote. If you're in town, I can come round to the shop, or we can go through it over a coffee by the harbour.

Who's searching in Barmouth.

Barmouth has been a holiday town for the best part of two centuries, and it still runs on visitors. A lot of them come from the Midlands, and plenty come back every year. The town fills up from Easter to September, then goes quiet, so most businesses here earn the year in a few busy months.

That makes winter the time that counts online. People plan next summer's week away from home, in January and February, on a phone or a laptop. They compare holiday lets, read reviews, check whether dogs are allowed and look up parking. Whoever answers those questions clearly gets the booking, and the ones who send them off to a booking site pay the commission.

Then there are the locals and the trades: builders, electricians, cleaners and gardeners covering Llanaber, Dyffryn Ardudwy, Bontddu and over the bridge to Fairbourne and Arthog. For them a website needs to say what they do, where they cover and how to get hold of them, and to show up when someone types the job and the town.

Why most Barmouth sites don’t bring work

What should a website actually do for you?

It's 2026. Customers expect you to have a website, and they judge you by it. Yet most small businesses see theirs as a cost that never pays back. When someone lands on your site, it has three jobs, in this order.

A visitor lands From Google, a recommendation or your van. You have seconds.
1
Say what you fixPeople rarely want to read about a service. They want to know what problem you solve for them, in the simplest terms.
2
Earn their trustBefore they get in touch, people look for reviews and examples of your work. That's the cost of entry.
3
Make the next step obviousClear calls to action for whatever matters to you: booking an appointment, a viewing or an enquiry.
New enquiry A call, a booking or a message, landing with you.

Get these three right and your website starts bringing in work.

Every site I build is planned around your business and its goal. Not a template with your logo on.

FAQ

Questions from Barmouth businesses.

Something else on your mind? Ask me directly.

My trade is mostly summer visitors. Is a website worth it in winter?

Yes, winter is when people book. Holiday lets, caravan parks and activity businesses round Barmouth take most of next summer's bookings between January and April, from people planning at home. A site that's quick to book from in February matters more than one that looks good in August.

Should my site mention the beach, the bridge and the Mawddach Trail?

If your customers come because of them, yes. Google matches what people search with what your page says, so a café on the prom or a let five minutes from the station should say so. I write it in naturally, not as a list of keywords.

Can you add a booking system?

I link up the booking tools that already work well, like the one your holiday let or restaurant uses now, and make sure they fit the site. I don't build custom booking systems, because the existing ones are cheaper for you and better supported.

Are you actually based in Barmouth?

Yes. I live and work in Barmouth, and I work with businesses here and in Llanaber, Bontddu and Fairbourne. I'll come to you, or we can meet in town.

Can you take over my existing site?

Often, yes. Send me the link and I'll tell you honestly whether it's worth keeping or starting fresh.

Danny at Wild Origines is so good that part of me wants to keep him a secret, but he deserves every bit of this review.

We’ve worked closely together to bring my company template and redevelop my current website, as well as effectively another new company website, and he’s been fantastic throughout. He’s worked all hours, taken the time to explain everything clearly, and consistently gone above and beyond. We’ve built a great relationship, and he’s been an absolute dream to work with.

What really sets Danny apart is his ability to think outside the box and create beautiful features that work brilliantly. He understands our philosophy while bringing sound business judgement, alongside expertise in AI and systems. It’s the perfect blend, and everything you could want in a web developer and far more.

Saying I wouldn’t hesitate to use Danny again doesn’t quite cover it. As long as he’s building websites, I won’t be going anywhere else. We’re already looking at other projects together, which probably says it all. I'd also recommend him to everyone and anyone who needs his services.

The website that Danny at Wild Origins has created for my business is far superior to the one I'd had before.

I'm absolutely thrilled with the design and he has showed great patience. Taking the time to understanding my vision and paying attention to all the details I wanted. He's been absolutely brilliant, and honestly can't recommend him enough. The evening my new website went live, I gained two new clients instantly!

We’re really happy with our new website!

A big thank you to Danny for making the whole process so easy and straightforward. He was friendly, helpful, and great to work with from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble, and we’re really pleased with the end result. Would definitely recommend Danny to anyone looking for a new website!
