Llangollen

A river town on everyone's day out.

Llangollen sits on the Dee, with the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct a few miles away, the steam railway along the valley, horse-drawn boats on the canal and white water right through town. Every July the International Musical Eisteddfod brings singers and dancers from all over the world, and every summer weekend brings day trippers.

I'm in Barmouth, about an hour and a half away through Bala, so I can come over and see you in person.

Search

Who's searching in Llangollen.

Llangollen is one of the easiest days out from Chester, Wrexham and Merseyside, and plenty of its visitors drive in for the day with no fixed plan. They park, walk the river, and look up lunch, the railway timetable and a boat trip on their phone as they go.

The canal is its own world. The Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and the canal around it are a World Heritage Site, and narrowboat holidays, day boat hire and boat trips across the aqueduct are booked weeks ahead. People planning a canal break compare boats, prices and moorings carefully.

Then there's Eisteddfod week in July, when beds for miles around fill months in advance. Accommodation and food businesses that are easy to find and easy to book for that week do very well out of it.

Why most Llangollen sites don’t bring work

What should a website actually do for you?

It's 2026. Customers expect you to have a website, and they judge you by it. Yet most small businesses see theirs as a cost that never pays back. When someone lands on your site, it has three jobs, in this order.

A visitor lands From Google, a recommendation or your van. You have seconds.
1
Say what you fixPeople rarely want to read about a service. They want to know what problem you solve for them, in the simplest terms.
2
Earn their trustBefore they get in touch, people look for reviews and examples of your work. That's the cost of entry.
3
Make the next step obviousClear calls to action for whatever matters to you: booking an appointment, a viewing or an enquiry.
New enquiry A call, a booking or a message, landing with you.

Get these three right and your website starts bringing in work.

Every site I build is planned around your business and its goal. Not a template with your logo on.

FAQ

Questions from Llangollen businesses.

Something else on your mind? Ask me directly.

Lots of my visitors come for the day from Chester and Merseyside. What do they look for?

Something they can decide on quickly: what you offer, prices, opening times and where to park. Day trippers rarely book ahead, so they choose from whatever answers those on their phone first.

I'm on the canal at Trevor, not in town. Will people find me?

Yes, if the site says where you are in plain words and links up your Google Business Profile. Plenty of people search for the aqueduct rather than for Llangollen, and that's a search you can win.

Is Llangollen too far for you?

No. It's an hour and a half from Barmouth, so I come over when it's useful, like the first chat, and the rest we sort over video and email.

Do you work with businesses in Llangollen?

Yes. I'm based in Barmouth and work with businesses in Llangollen, Trevor, Corwen and Chirk. I'll come to you.

Can you take over my existing site?

Often, yes. Send me the link and I'll tell you honestly whether it's worth keeping or starting fresh.

Danny at Wild Origines is so good that part of me wants to keep him a secret, but he deserves every bit of this review.

We’ve worked closely together to bring my company template and redevelop my current website, as well as effectively another new company website, and he’s been fantastic throughout. He’s worked all hours, taken the time to explain everything clearly, and consistently gone above and beyond. We’ve built a great relationship, and he’s been an absolute dream to work with.

What really sets Danny apart is his ability to think outside the box and create beautiful features that work brilliantly. He understands our philosophy while bringing sound business judgement, alongside expertise in AI and systems. It’s the perfect blend, and everything you could want in a web developer and far more.

Saying I wouldn’t hesitate to use Danny again doesn’t quite cover it. As long as he’s building websites, I won’t be going anywhere else. We’re already looking at other projects together, which probably says it all. I'd also recommend him to everyone and anyone who needs his services.

The website that Danny at Wild Origins has created for my business is far superior to the one I'd had before.

I'm absolutely thrilled with the design and he has showed great patience. Taking the time to understanding my vision and paying attention to all the details I wanted. He's been absolutely brilliant, and honestly can't recommend him enough. The evening my new website went live, I gained two new clients instantly!

We’re really happy with our new website!

A big thank you to Danny for making the whole process so easy and straightforward. He was friendly, helpful, and great to work with from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble, and we’re really pleased with the end result. Would definitely recommend Danny to anyone looking for a new website!
