Cromer

A pier town with a long summer.

Cromer is a classic seaside town on the North Norfolk coast: the pier with its end of the pier show, Cromer crab, the lifeboat and the carnival every August. Visitors fill it all summer and locals keep it going all year, and both decide where to go on their phone.

I'm based in Barmouth in North Wales, and I've already redesigned the site for IC Sports, the sports shop on Church Street. We talk over video, you send photos and words by email, and you see every page on your own phone before anything goes live.

Search

Who's searching in Cromer.

The pier is the heart of it. Its Pavilion Theatre runs a summer show from late June to September and a Christmas show at the end of the year, and in 2026 the pier turns 125. Add carnival week in August, the crab and the beach, and the town is busy for a long season.

Visitors here are often repeat ones: families who have come to the same stretch of coast for years, and couples staying in Cromer to explore Sheringham, Holt and the North Norfolk villages. They plan ahead, book direct when they can, and look up where to eat once they arrive.

Out of season, Cromer is a small town that serves a wide rural area. The shops on Church Street and the trades and services around the town rely on locals, who search for the job and the town and pick from the first few they see.

Why most Cromer sites don’t bring work

What should a website actually do for you?

It's 2026. Customers expect you to have a website, and they judge you by it. Yet most small businesses see theirs as a cost that never pays back. When someone lands on your site, it has three jobs, in this order.

A visitor lands From Google, a recommendation or your van. You have seconds.
1
Say what you fixPeople rarely want to read about a service. They want to know what problem you solve for them, in the simplest terms.
2
Earn their trustBefore they get in touch, people look for reviews and examples of your work. That's the cost of entry.
3
Make the next step obviousClear calls to action for whatever matters to you: booking an appointment, a viewing or an enquiry.
New enquiry A call, a booking or a message, landing with you.

Get these three right and your website starts bringing in work.

Every site I build is planned around your business and its goal. Not a template with your logo on.

FAQ

Questions from Cromer businesses.

Something else on your mind? Ask me directly.

My shop does well with locals. Why does it need a better site?

Because even locals check online first, and new people in town only find you that way. IC Sports' redesign shows what's in the shop, what's on and how to get in touch, so the site sends people through the door.

How do I make the most of carnival week and the pier show season?

Put what you're doing that week on the homepage, with opening hours and how to book. People plan carnival week ahead, and the businesses that make it easy get the bookings.

I let holiday cottages. What do Cromer visitors look for?

Photos of every room, how far you are from the pier and the beach, parking, and whether dogs are welcome. North Norfolk is very dog friendly and visitors filter on it, so say so clearly.

Do you work with businesses in Cromer?

Yes. I'm based in Barmouth in North Wales and work with businesses across the UK over video calls and email. You see every page on your own phone before anything goes live, and there are no travel costs on your quote.

Can you take over my existing site?

Often, yes. Send me the link and I'll tell you honestly whether it's worth keeping or starting fresh.

Danny at Wild Origines is so good that part of me wants to keep him a secret, but he deserves every bit of this review.

We’ve worked closely together to bring my company template and redevelop my current website, as well as effectively another new company website, and he’s been fantastic throughout. He’s worked all hours, taken the time to explain everything clearly, and consistently gone above and beyond. We’ve built a great relationship, and he’s been an absolute dream to work with.

What really sets Danny apart is his ability to think outside the box and create beautiful features that work brilliantly. He understands our philosophy while bringing sound business judgement, alongside expertise in AI and systems. It’s the perfect blend, and everything you could want in a web developer and far more.

Saying I wouldn’t hesitate to use Danny again doesn’t quite cover it. As long as he’s building websites, I won’t be going anywhere else. We’re already looking at other projects together, which probably says it all. I'd also recommend him to everyone and anyone who needs his services.

The website that Danny at Wild Origins has created for my business is far superior to the one I'd had before.

I'm absolutely thrilled with the design and he has showed great patience. Taking the time to understanding my vision and paying attention to all the details I wanted. He's been absolutely brilliant, and honestly can't recommend him enough. The evening my new website went live, I gained two new clients instantly!

We’re really happy with our new website!

A big thank you to Danny for making the whole process so easy and straightforward. He was friendly, helpful, and great to work with from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble, and we’re really pleased with the end result. Would definitely recommend Danny to anyone looking for a new website!
